Birthday Recap

Biscuit's birthday was so much fun!  We celebrated with her friends and cousins a few days ago at Bounce U. She loves bouncing and even worked up the courage to climb up the big walls and go down the steep slides this time!

On her actual birthday we tried to make the day special.  We always like to have her wake up to balloons and streamers!

She opened her presents from us (Snoopy Snow Cone Maker, Moon Sand, Mixes for her Easy Bake Oven).  When it was time to go to school, she was very excited to see that in the place of her "baby" carseat was a big girl booster seat which she has been begging for:)  She had school and her class sang happy birthday to her.  She got to blow out candles but they can't really have sweets at school so it was not a real cake.  How lame is that?  Man the world has changed.  So instead of giving out cupcakes we gave out coloring books.

Last night my parents and Tom's parents came over for pizza, cake and ice cream.  She got even more presents from them.  Then her Uncle Brian came over with a dozen purple roses for her.  How sweet was that!  After we put them to bed, Tom and I watched her birth video as we do each year on this day.  Of course I cried and smiled as I watched.  So unbelievable.  I remember every detail but yet it seems so foggy!  I went to bed feeling very blessed and grateful for my precious little family.

And speaking of precious, come on...
Have you ever seen a cuter baby boy?  I may be a little partial but those dimples are to die for!

Take 2...

Well I have tried to start a blog before but after just 2 posts I abandoned it.  Life just gets in the way of all of my good intentions. (like writing thank you notes, working out, etc.) This time I am committed.

Today she is four.  It is so cliche to gush about how fast time flies but it is true.  Four years have come and gone in a flash.  And I know the next four will do the same.  I don't want to look back and regret not keeping better track of the important milestones, but also the little sweet details that make my babies who they are.  I want them to be able to one day look back on their childhood and see themselves through their mommy's adoring eyes:)  So here goes...

Biscuit, four years ago, you made me into a mommy.  That was the greatest day of my life.  And everyday since then you have brought me more joy than I can describe.

One of my all time favorite pics!

You are BEAUTIFUL.  You are sweet.  You are very smart and you love preschool.  Your favorite color is purple.  You love to dress up and wear make up - such a girly girl.  You love to play with play dough, glitter, markers, glue, and all things messy!  You love baking and especially decorating your cakes and creations.  You are a very graceful dancer. (you must take after your aunt and cousins!)  You are strong willed. Sometimes that is hard on a parent but I love it because I know you will be a confident, independent person when you get bigger!

You love your baby brother fiercely and you even made up your own name for him - Palella, aka Lells.  Don't ask me where that came from!

You are daddy's little princess and you have him completely wrapped around your finger:)

You are my best little buddy.

I wish so badly that I could keep you little forever but that would not be fair to the rest of the world!  You are destined for great things baby girl and I know I have to let you grow and be everything God created you to be.  But for now, you are still my little Biscuit.  Happy Birthday!
